The “cut n paste”, oh come on, you can do it.

OH, come on, you can do it. This little nugget of information could change your life!

To “cut and paste”:

There is a little known storage location on your windows PC called the Clipboard. The clipboard will record text strings with “cuts” or “copies” and return pastes.

To record a text string to the clipboard you need to highlight it with your mouse. You can click and drag over any text string to highlight the string. Once you have identified the text string you have two choices, cut or copy.
A Cut will copy to the clipboard and delete the original. and Copy (preferred) will copy the string to the clipboard and leave the original string as is.

To invoke these commands, after highlighting the text string, hold the Ctrl key and select the letter “c” (Ctrl c = copy; Ctrl x = cut).

Now move your mouse to a location where you want to Paste the text string that you just stored on the clipboard. To paste select Ctrl v.

You can also invoke these commands from most “Edit” menus.
So do this, highlight this text then hold the Ctrl key while pressing the letter “c” (Ctrl c). Then move to a place where you can type, like a new word doc or in a form field or in the browser address bar; then hold Ctrl and select the letter “v” (Ctrl v).

That’s it.
